Voices of Freedom: A Juneteenth Reflection

Celebrate Juneteenth by sharing your voice! Throughout the month of June, participate in a self-guided community activity reflecting on the meaning of freedom. Simply take a sticky note and respond to the prompt “What does freedom mean to you?” Then add your note to our community board and become part of a collective expression of reflection, culture, and history. View weekly storytimes and STEAM programs, recorded by library staff, on Facebook and YouTube.

Kids can call Dial-a-story at (252) 265-5570 (English) or (252) 265-8433 (En Español) to hear a story read out loud.

Staff is available Monday through Saturday at the Main Library, 9am to 6pm, to answer questions and help you use our online resources, including downloading eBooks. Call 252-237-5355 for assistance.

Photos will be taken at library programs and events. If you prefer that your photo not be taken, please inform the staff member in charge of the event.

Some programs are funded by a Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) Grant awarded to the Wilson County Public Library for the creation of a CrAFT Studio - Creativity, Art, Fabrication, and Technology lab. The CrAFT Studio will combine the Makerspace movement with STEAM subjects through robotics, coding, crafts, electronics, and more.
